Abstract:
This subject examines health care services from an organisational viewpoint with particular concern for factors influencing the effectiveness of the nursing team.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
understand the benefits of a team development exercise
discuss the emergence of the team idea
argue a case as to what constitutes an effective team
compare and contrast your own team to the effective team
demonstrate a relationship between people and productivity.
analyse team dynamics in terms of goals, roles, and procedures.
undertake a small team intervention to uncover a problem
provide tentative recommendations for the amelioration of team problems uncovered by survey-feedback techniques.
