Duration: Two sessions

Abstract:

Nursing Project is a year long subject that aims to increase knowledge and develop workplace practice in an area of professional nursing. The course requires students to appraise personal professional practice before developing a Professional Practice Development project; designing, implementing and evaluating a relevant research or teaching-learning projects. Students are assisted in the selection of topics before determining strategies for developing personal or collegial professional practice.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

 

  1. be able to appraise professional practice in the light of relevant research.
  2. be able to develop, implement and evaluate a project that aims to enhance personal or collegial professional practice.

Syllabus:

The subject will cover the following topics:

Module 1: Appraising professional nursing practice.

Module 2: Research project.

Module 3: Teaching-learning project .
 

Residential School

This subject contains a compulsory 20 day residential school.

For students studying by distance education there is a two day residential school.
