This subject consists of a philosophical investigation and critique of the understanding of mind and human behaviour, as well as the underlying methodological approaches, implicit in the following influential psychological schools of thought: Behaviourism, Freudian psychology, Cognitive psychology, humanistic psychology, and social psychology.

Understand and be able to critique the philosophical underpinnings of the schools of Psychology studied
Understand and be able to apply fundamental philosophical concepts in relation to the models of mind and behaviour offered by these schools
