Abstract:
The aim of the dissertation, which constitutes half the Honours course, is to show the capability of students to design and carry out original research. This is the most demanding part of the course but it can also be the most rewarding. The research is carried out under the supervision of a member of staff. The issue which is investigated in the research is normally in the broad area of coursework specialisation.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
* demonstrate their research skills by designing, carrying out and reporting a piece of empirical research
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
* Students will be required to individually design an empirical study. Once the research proposals are approved, students will carry out their proposed research and write a report in APA format
Residential School
This subject contains a compulsory 7 day residential school.
There are two residential schools - one of 4 days and one of 3 days.
