Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
Understand the concepts of research in science and the philosophy
underlying them;
Be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for independent scholarship or research.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
Science literature and searching procedures; Experimental design and statistics for scientists; Philosophy of science; Funding in science; Report writing and presentation; Organisation of science and research in Australia.
