Abstract:
This subject facilitates advanced competence in the study of the Greek New Testament. It comprises a more detailed and in-depth study of New Testament Greek grammar and syntax, translation from the Greek New Testament and other Koine Greek literature, and exegesis of Greek texts.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to translate selected passages from the Greek text of the New Testament and other Koine Greek literature
- be able to demonstrate advanced facility with Greek vocabulary and grammar
- be able to demonstrate competence in exegesis of Greek texts
- be able to demonstrate the ability to use research tools in New Testament studies
- be able to demonstrate self-guided learning
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- advanced Greek grammar and syntax
- translation of substantial portions of Greek text
- advanced exegesis of Koine Greek texts
- issues relating to Greek translation and exegesis such as grammar, syntax, special idioms and semantics
