Abstract:

This subject provides students with the opportunity to reflect on the nature and purpose of Religious and Values Education. It addesses the issue: How religion and values are taught in a multi-cultural and increasingly secular society? The subject examines a variety of responses to this question, reflecting the history of RaVE in Australia and drawing on research from across the world. Students will engage critically with recent literature in the field, its implications for curriculum design and classroom practice.
