THL512 Contemporary Theology in a Global Context (16)

Abstract:

This subject engages critically with major figures and movements in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The scope of the subject includes an examination of Schleiermacher and Cultural Protestantism; the New, Continued and Third Quests for the Historical Jesus; Neo-Reformation theologies; theologies of God and culture; Catholic theologies; theologies in the Orthodox traditions; liberation, feminist and contextual theologies; and choices from other selected themes. From this suite students will engage critically with a selection of these theologies in relation to their contexts, tasks and methods.
