This subject familarises students with the theoretical and practical issues of televisionproduction and transmission.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- demonstrate an understanding of current television technology
- project likely future develoments in television production and transmission
- understand the theory of television transmission systems
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- analogue and digital theory and their interrelationship - electrical theory as applied to television production and transmission - tape and broadcast formats - an overview of production, post production, stuio and outside broadcast technology
