Abstract:
This subject provides instruction in the different elements of single camera television production. Specific areas include script development, lighting, sound, camera, working with actors, performers and presenters, and linear editing. Students will apply the processes to magazine programs, Electronic News Gathering (ENG), segment coverage, documentary, and drama production.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- understand and experience the various roles and responsibilities required for single camera production
- demonstrate the communication skills required for single camera production
- work productively with actors, performers and presenters
- develop a single camera television projects from concept to completion
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- operation and management of single camera production in both studio and on location - camera, lighting, sound recording, and linear off-line editing theory and practice for single camera production - script development for single camera production. - the actor / director relationship - specific production requirements and techniques for the documentary, electronic news gathering and single camera drama projects
