CSU Discipline Area: Design and Visual Production (DSVIS)

Abstract:
Students will undertake an industry internship placement, or a directed research project in a selected area of expertise, then document their activities and findings. The internship attachement will allow the student to further enhance their skill base and understand appropriate television production practices through practical experience and exposure to television operation. This will also allow students to build valuable industry contracts.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- have spent a minimum of two weeks as a intern in professional television operations and/or production practice
- be able to demonstrate their understanding of the structure and operation of television stations or production houses
- have developed skills to operate successfully in a professional work environment
- be able to demonstrate their employment of appropriate work ethic and effective communication skills
- have developed a network of industry contracts
- be able to critically analyse and document the process and report their findings
