Abstract:
The student develops proposals for significant major works or a significant contribution to major collaborative projects in which their contribution is appropriate to their area of specialisation. In this subject the student, individually or as a member of a team, produces and designs production projects that reflect their expertise in animation and visual effects. This may involve any combination of digital sound, music, text, and/or video, image creation and manipulation, animation, 3D modelling or other special effects, interactive techniques and/or other multimedia processes.

Bachelor of Arts (Animation and Visual Effects) Only. Not available to students who have already completed MPI303 .
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to demonstrate aesthetic conceptual and technical solutions to the authoring of a complex multimedia project appropriate to an informational, artistic, educational or entertainment context as relevant to their intended career paths and/or specialisation.
- be able to demonstrate research capabilities and document issues of studio and project management in digital content creation and production
- be able to demonstrate time and resource management
- be able to demonstrate working effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- Analysis of specific historical and contemporary works of visual arts in contexts relevant to the projects being undertaken - Analysis of media asset production strategies and techniques for particular multimedia projects in contexts relevant to the projects being undertaken - Documenting studio and project management issues in multimedia production - Research into studio and project management issues in multimedia production - Participating in collaborative projects
