VSC325 Farm Animal 1 (8)
CSU Discipline Area: Animal and Vet Science (ANVET)
Duration: One session
Abstract:
Farm Animal 1 will be presented in a Problem Based Learning format based around three case packages over three weeks. In common with Farm Animal 2 and Farm Animal 3 it will present cases related to cattle, sheep, goats, alpacas and other farm livestock, particularly illustrating the management of cases in the individual animal. Farm Animal 1 considers the sometime difficult relationship between financial considerations, the animals welfare and the responsibility of the veterinarian to offer meaningful prognostic advice.
The content of the subject will integrate pre-clinical and clinical disciplines. Case material will be augmented by Resource Sessions, which will include highlight lectures, tutorials and practical classes.
