Abstract:
the aim of this subject is to obtain training and develop advanced skills and knowledge in the selected and/or related disciplines of the profession, undertake systematic investigation and critical reflection of the theory and professional practice and integrate the current and new knowledge.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- Be able to develop cognitive skills and intellectual independence to demonstrate expert understanding of theoretical knowledge underpinning the selected and/or related disciplines
- Be able to develop advanced cognitive and technical skills to demonstrate expert understanding of theoretical knowledge underpinning the discipline
- Be able to reflect critically on that theory and professional practice and integration of current and new knowledge and evaluate common practices in the clinical field
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- The candidate will select the related discipline(s) and location(s) for professional placement(s) for this subject, under the guidance of the principal supervisor.
- The candidate will identify the goals and learning objectives of the professional placement, under the guidance of the principal supervisor
- The candidate will undertake scholarly preparation for the placement, including a literature review surrounding the identified learning objectives.
- During the subject the candidates:
- - undertake placement in one or more enterprise(s) which is/are relevant to the selected discipline
- - Write a diary of reflective practice
- - Deliver a seminar which demonstrates integration of disciplines
Workplace Learning
This subject contains a Compulsory Workplace Learning component of >30 days duration.
The duration of the Workplace Learning is variable, depending on the discipline and negotiated between the candidate and supervisor.
The Workplace learning may be undertaken on and/or off campus at one of more enterprises, which is/are relevant to the selected discipline(s) to allow advanced professional practice training.
