Abstract:
The aim of this subject is to provide advanced, specialised clinical training of the candidates in their selected discipline or related disciplines through exposure to professional clinical practice either on-campus or externally. Candidates will develop cognitive skills that demonstrate expert and detailed understanding of knowledge underpinning the discipline(s) and undertake critical reflection of that theory and practice.

This subject is restricted to students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Studies
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- Be able to demonstrate intellectual independence through exposure to clinical practice during placement on campus or externally and application of advanced knowledge and skills in the selected discipline(s)
- Be able to develop advanced cognitive skills to demonstrate expert understanding of theoretical knowledge underpinning the discipline, and demonstrate practical clinical skills.
Syllabus:
The subject will cover the following topics:
- The subject will involve placement in an enterprise on or off campus for at least 3 weeks. During this period, the student gains exposure to professional clinical practice, either in the nominated primary discipline or a related discipline. During the placement, the students are required to document all exposures in written log-books, which are submitted at the end of the subject for marking. In addition, students deliver a presentation of their experiences to enable demonstration of accruement of new knowledge at the forefront of the discipline.
