Admission criteria

Entry to the Bachelor of Dental Science will be composed of the UAI score, a written application/ questionnaire and an interview.

All students entering the Bachelor of Dental Science course must have a minimum UAI score of 90, including Regional Bonus Points.

The following selection criteria be adopted when assessing applicants via the written application/questionnaire and the interview:

  1. A demonstrated interest in, and commitment to, rural Australia, dentistry and the overall oral health of the population.
  2. High level academic ability.
  3. An understanding of the unique issues that confront dental and oral health workers in rural and remote Australia.
  4. The capacity to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

The following NSW HSC or equivalent subjects are recommended as assumed knowledge for the Bachelor of Dental Science course: English Standard, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

Graduation requirement

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 320 points.

Course structure

This course of 320 points duration, consists of 6 X 24 point, 6 X 12 point, 12 X 8 point and 2 X 4 point compulsory core subjects.
