Full-time Undergraduate (ie UAC) applications

Essential Entry Requirements

Concessions

  1. Recent work experience: 5 points for 11 months or more work experience, undertaken in the previous 24 months, in horticulture, viticulture or related domain (eg agriculture, forestry, environmental restoration).
  2. Agriculture or horticulture background: 2 points if had upbringing on a family farm or similar.
  3. Tertiary study preparation program: 3 points for completed program.
  4. VET study (ie TAFE, Tocal Agricultural College, Queensland Agricultural College, etc.): 5 points for Certificate III or 8 points for Certificate IV, 10 points for higher levels.
  5. Aboriginal and Torres Strait background: 5 points
  6. Non-English speaking background: 5 points

Distance Education applications

  1. Under 21 (as at March 1, of the intended commencement year). Admissions criteria are those detailed above for full-time undergraduate applications.
  2. Over 21 - There are no defined academic attainment requirements but admission will be determined on the merits of the applicant. Applicants are asked to include with their application a statement supporting their application. The reviewer will be looking for evidence that the applicant has the skills and attitudes to succeed at university. Key areas for consideration include:

Interview

For some applicants, determination of entry may require an interview (in person or by phone). The most likely situations are for applicants who did not complete high school and have not subsequently studied at any level, or students who have previously attempted tertiary study and have poor academic records.

Additional Admission requirement for International students

International students (refer to the University's definition) are required to have achieved an overall band score of not less than 7.0 in IELTS, or an equivalent score in a comparable test acceptance to the University. This result will need to have been achieved within 24 months of the proposed commencement date of study.
