Normal course duration

Full-time 4.125 years (8.25 sessions)

Admission criteria

Admission to the program will be through UAC and VTAC systems. Some students may be admitted through the Koori Admission program and the Principal's Early Recommendation Scheme. NSW Institute of Teachers is the accrediting body for teacher education programs in NSW. In order to satisfy entry requirements, students are required to have NSW HSC English minimum Band 4 (Standard, English as a Second Language or Advanced). Where an applicant does not meet this entry requirement, CSU will provide concurrent study in English prior to graduation.

Credit

Students entering the course with Higher School Certificate minimum Band 4 in English Advanced, Standard English or English as a Second Language will be given credit for LIT101 Language and Text.

Graduation requirement

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 264 points.

Professional recognition

The Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) has been accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as providing a three year sequence of study in psychology.

The Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) is accredited by the New South Wales Institute of Teachers. It is due for re-accreditation in 2012, however due to implications of national accreditation, all courses are currently on hold until Universities are advised of an accreditation date.
