Admission criteria

To be admitted into the course, prospective students need to indicate their likelihood of success through one or more of the following:

Students must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Credit

No credit will be granted for subjects in this course.

Graduation requirement

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

Course structure

This course consists of the equivalent of eight 8-point subjects:

IKP101 Transition to Academic Writing Skills 1
IKP102 Introduction to Indigenous Studies
IKP104 Introduction to Humanities and Social Sciences
IKP105 Introduction to Indigenous Histories and Contemporary Realities
IKP107 Transition to Academic Writing Skills 2
and
IKP103 Introduction to Science
or
IKP106 Introduction to Mathematics for Life and Learning

Restricted electives

Students select two electives from the following:

COM112 Digital Media
HIP112 Communication for Health Practice
MTH129 Discrete Mathematics
PHL103 Theories of Human nature
SOC101 Introductory Sociology
or any first year subject in consultation/negotiation by the Course Coordinator.
