EMT302 Understanding and Using New Technologies (8)
Abstract| This subject will examine trends, issues and ideas that underpin learning and communication through new technologies. It is designed to facilitate the use of technology in an education-based learning/constructivist perspective rather than in a hardware/programming perspective. Throughout this subject, students will gain hands-on experience in working through the understanding of using technology appropriately in educational settings, with a special emphasis on integrating technology into the curriculum as well as other applications related to communications and creative opportunities/expression. Students will practice critical evaluation and effectiveness in changes in technology to remain current. Throughout this subject students will model an "approach" (versus avoidance) attitude towards technology, to develop a supportive role and/or instruct learners in the use of technology to enhance learning. |
