Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be familiar with some of the most influential and frequently discussed works in English literature from Medieval times to the mid-Seventeenth century - have a broad sense of the transformations that have occurred in English language and literature during these centuries - have a good sense of how developments in society had an impact on the cultural environment of England - have an understanding of a number of literary genres introduced during the session - have an understanding of and competence in practices of analysis and commentary that constitute the discipline of literary criticism |
