Professional recognition
The Graduate Diploma of Mammography will be professionally accredited by the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR). In addition, graduates will be registered to practice with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) as Mammographic Technologists. As this is a completely new program and model of practice in Australia, the AIR is currently writing the guidelines for accreditation and negotiating with the MRPBA to add the specialist Mammographic Technologist to the list of Registered practitioners.
