    Master of Human Resource Management (with specialisations)

    Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or a qualification deemed to be equivalent. Applicants with other academic and/or professional qualifications and work experience acceptable to the University will be considered.

    Graduate Certificate In Human Resource Management

    Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or a qualification deemed to be equivalent. Applicants with other academic and/or professional qualifications and/or 5 years of relevant work experience acceptable to the University will be considered.

    Credit CSU Credit Policy

    Master of Human Resource Management (with specialisations)

    Students who enter the Master HRM with the AHRI Professional Diploma will be awarded 4 subject credits.

    Graduate Certificate In Human Resource Management

    Standard CSU Credit policy apply.

    Articulation

    The Master, the Graduate Diploma [exit point only] and the Graduate Certificate make up an articulated set of courses and credit is given in each higher level course for the subjects completed in the lower.

    Graduation requirement

    Master of Human Resource Management (with specialisations)

    To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 96 points.

    Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management [exit point only]

    To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

    Graduate Certificate In Human Resource Management

    To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 32 points.

    Course structure

    Graduate Certificate

    The course comprises four subjects:
    HRM502 Human Resource Management
    HRM523 Advanced Studies in Industrial Relations
    HRM528 Strategic Human Resource Management
    LAW515 Law of Employment

    Graduate Diploma

    Students complete four of the following restricted elective subjects, in addition to the completion of the Graduate Certificate:
    HRM501 Labour Market Studies
    HRM512 Values and Conflicts in Organisations
    HRM550 Evaluating Human Resources
    HRM552 Organisational Behaviour
    HRM563 Developing Organisational Capabilities
    MGT501 Management Theory and Practice
    MGT540 Management of Change
    MGT594 Leadership and Business Ethics

    Master degree

    The Master degree comprises twelve subjects. Students complete the subjects required in the Graduate Certificate and the Graduate Diploma, then choose an additional four subjects. These four subjects provide students with the option of specialising in a particular area, or completing subjects across a range of specialisations. Additional electives (non specialisation) are also offered in order to provide students with a broad range of HR related subjects.

    1) Core subjects

    Upon completion of the four subjects specified for the Graduate Certificate, students may elect to exit from the Master degree and graduate with the award Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management.

    2) Restricted Elective subjects

    Four subjects must be completed and are chosen from the following eight restricted elective subjects:

    Students who have completed the subjects specified for completion of the Graduate Diploma may elect to exit from the Master degree and graduate with the award Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management.

    3) Specialisations

    Note: if a subject in the student's chosen specialisation has already been completed as one of the restricted elective subjects, students must complete an additional restricted elective subject.

    Enrolment pattern

    Because of the flexibility of the course requirements, there is no prescribed enrolment pattern. Students may choose the order in which they undertake subjects, depending upon the availability of subjects and the meeting of any pre-requisites.
