The Mitchell Foundation Prize for Reflective Writing

Criteria
Students in the relevant courses, after completing their final professional experience placements in schools or early childhood services, write a reflective essay or story to illustrate the teaching challenges and professional growth they have experienced during their placement, as they look forward to their future as a beginning teacher. The writing task is to be modelled on the entries included in Into the Whirly Wind: Stories of First-year-out Teaching (this book is listed as recommended reading for the relevant internship subjects).
Eligibility
Graduating students enrolled in a pre-service teacher education course in the School of Teacher Education.
Value
The prize will consist of $500 and an inscribed certificate issued by the University.

Awarded to a graduating student who has submitted the most outstanding reflective essay or story which illustrates the teaching challenges and professional growth experienced during their placement, as they look forward to their future as a beginning teacher.
