Abstract

The subject covers personal change, community change and change within organisations. It adopts an action oriented approach to managing change whereupon students are expected to manage a change situation within a community or organisation. Students work in action learning groups to support each others projects.

- demonstrate an understanding of how organisations work
- identify different grouping of people, households and organizations which are commonly labelled 'community' and discuss their various purposes
- advise a community on an appropriate change management strategy for the issues confronting that community
- select various change management strategies and processes available to a community
- implement a change management strategy from the perspective of a consultant within an organisation or community.
