* have an understanding of normal vertebrate tissue structure * have a basic knowledge of the theory of fixation, processing and staining of animal tissue * be proficient in the preparation of paraffin-wax sections * be proficient in H&E staining and selected special stains and immunohistochemistry * have an understanding of various other methods used in the laboratory eg resin embedding, frozen sections. |
