Abstract
In this subject students will be able to integrate basic anatomy and physiology with pathophysiological principles to formulate a field impression and implement a treatment plan for the patient . Students will learn techniques of scene control, patient assessment, physical assessment, history taking, and treatment integration. |

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- Be able to:
- * Demonstrate an understanding of Pre-hospital Care scene assessment, patient assessment and history taking;
- * Understand and apply the basic concepts of infection control to the Pre Hospital environment;
- * Understand and apply the basic principles of kinetics and manual handling to the Pre Hospital Care environment.
- Understand and apply the basic concepts of initial patient assessment
- Understand basic heart rhythms and use of an AED
- Demonstrate an understanding of medical terminology
- Demonstrate basic understanding of treatment integration;
- Demonstrate an understanding of inital airway management
- Demonstrate proficiency in documentation and clinical hand-over in the Pre Hospital environment
