Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to accurately identify, assess and manage paramedic care of obstetric, neonatal, paediatric and geriatric presentations.
- be able to describe changes which occur during pregnancy and relate this to appropriate management of a pregnant patient.
- be able to recognise normal and complicated childbirth and demonstrate management in simulated situations.
- be able to describe anatomical and physiological differences between children and adults and appropriately modify care of paediatric pateints.
- be able to describe the anatomical physiological changes of aging and apply these to simulated clinical situations.

SyllabusThe subject will cover the following topics:
- Paramedic identification and management of obstetric, neonatal, paediatric and geriatric presentations. Each stage is equal to 25% of the subject.
- Theoretical principles and clinical skills relating to assessment and management of obstetric, neonatal, paediatric and geriatric patients
