Abstract

This subject will provide students with a conceptual and practical understanding of international supply chains and their infrastructure and regulation. The subject will examine best practice approaches to the management of supply chain issues (including the ‘authorized trader’ programs that have been legislated for in many countries or customs unions, regulatory compliance and security).

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

be able to explain and critically commentate on the key concepts of international supply chain management;
be able to apply their knowledge of best practice supply chain management approaches to particular trading environments and situations;
be able to identify and assess critically the practical impact of the key principles of the World Customs Organization (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards on international trade and to apply those principles to both theoretical and practical situations/scenarios in respect of cross border trade and management;
be able to analyse the issues and solve complex problems addressing the regulation of the international supply chain; and
