This subject is a continuation of DOH 401. This subject is designed to provide students with full development of skills necessary to provide more complex and comprehensive clinical care for adults, teenagers and children.  Additionally students will gain the required skills in the management of patients requiring minor surgical procedures and gain additional knowledge and experience in dental therapeutics.

-be able to demonstrate developed knowledge and continuing development of skills relevant to the provision of simple safe local anaesthesia;
-be able to demonstrate continued development of clinical skills relevant to the provision of simple dental restorations;
-be able to demonstrate continued development of clinical skills required for the provision of relief of pain and simple endodontic treatment;
-be able to demonstrate continued development of clinical skills relevant to the provision of removable partial dentures;
-be able to demonstrate continued development of clinical competence relevant to the management of simple dental extractions;
-be able to demonstrate the ability to apply dental therapeutics competently within the clinical setting;
-be able to demonstrate understanding and continued development of clinical skills relevant to meeting a patient’s fixed prosthodontic requirements;
-be able to demonstrate an understanding of specific behavioural and management strategies required for the provision of optimal oral health care for children;
-be able to demonstrate continuing development of clinical competency relevant to the management of dental treatment for children;
-be able to demonstrate continuing development of knowledge and skills in the management of patients requiring minor oral surgery procedures.
