EER411 Researching Teaching (8)

Abstract

This subject prepares students for their professional responsibility for ongoing improvement as teachers by developing their ability to read, understand and critique educational research. It is the first of a suite of professionally-focussed subjects in the final year of the course, and seeks to give an overview of educational research. It introduces such questions as: What is research? What forms of research are commonly undertaken in educational settings? How does research help teachers reflect on and improve their everyday practice? On this basis students will conduct a small literature review on an area of disciplinary or policy knowledge.
