EPT315 Professional Experience 3 (Primary): Teacher as Manager (8)

Abstract

This subject will build on understandings of the nature of effective pedagogical practices that encompass teaching, learning and assessment. Students will undertake a professional experience program of up to 25 days (dependant upon accreditation requirements) where they will be expected to critically integrate theory and practice in relation to classroom management issues while exploring a variety of curriculum areas. Students will explore the collaborative nature of teachers' work while undertaking their professional experience placement.

- have successfully completed a school placement of up to 25 days (dependant upon accreditation requirements) as assessed by the Professional Experience Assessment profile.

Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:
- Preparation for professional experience placement, including language (voice, body, written communication). - The collaborative nature of teachers' work through engaging in 'shared work'. - The complex and diverse nature of school and community settings.
