EPT317 Professional Experience 3: Upper Primary (6)
Abstract
This subject provides an opportunity for students to consider the influences on curriculum, models of teaching and learning and frameworks for planning in the upper years of primary school. Students will utilise the knowledge and experience they have gained in the first two years of the course to further develop their skills in observing learner needs and abilities, and planning for their development and teaching to achieve planned outcomes. The subject includes a professional experience placement of up to 20 days (dependent upon accreditation requirements) in years 3-6 in schools. |

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- have engaged in critical enquiry and dialogue about primary curriculum and teaching practices;
- have competently employed classroom and behaviour management practices appropriate to children in the upper years of primary school;
- possess an understanding of planning and organisational frameworks to guide their teaching practice in upper primary;
- have successfully completed a professional experience placement of up to 20 days dependent upon accreditation requirements.

- Accessing and managing resources for planning and practice;
