Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:

- be able to display various methods of organising and communicating information and/or complex data within a specified area

SyllabusThe subject will cover the following topics:
- The document as a whole - structure and organization
- Master page layouts - grids, guides, page numbers and automated contents
- Margins and columns - the relation between text and image
- Text formatting - paragraph and character styles, indents and drop caps
- Image formatting and placement - text wrapping, object styles and image quality
- Approaches to information design/architecture – graphs, tables, table styles and pull outs
- Exporting for print and web
- HCI - Interface design
