Understand, at an introductory level, the principal methods and theories of psychology Understand key psychological aspects of human development Understand the fundamental concepts related to how behaviour is learned Understand fundamental concepts and approaches to human personality Understand psychological concepts and approaches to mental disorders Be able to explain and describe basic concepts and research tools used by sociologists and social scientists in general Be able to compare and contrast the major schools of thought in social analysis of society and culture Be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of how society and social institutions operate Be able to constructively critique and evaluate contemporary issues and problems from a sociological perspective Be able to complete written and oral work at an academic level |
