- Planting design - the use of visual design components in the articulation of space
- Genius loci - Spirit of place
- Structure, scale and three dimensional interrelationships in plant assemblages
- Considerations on natives and aliens
- Styles in landscape design

Residential SchoolThis subject contains a compulsory 3 day residential school.
The residential school provides a hands on approach to the theory taught in the subject.
