INF308 Professional Activities (2)

Abstract

This subject requires students to attend and report on a minimum of 30 hours of professional activities (such as conference sessions, seminars, workshops) of value to the development of library and information services professionals.

Available only to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Library and Information Science) or the Bachelor of Applied Science (Library & Information Management).
Not available to students who have completed INF307 or enrolled in the course of Bachelor of Information Studies (with Specialisations).

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- have experienced a range of library and information services professional activities at local, regional, state, national or international level;
- be aware of the value of continuing professional development as a component of professional practice;
- be able to evaluate professional development activities; and

Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:
- topics of interest to, and appropriate to the professional development needs of each student; and
- guidelines for choosing and evaluating a range of professional activities.
