Abstract| This subject aims to assist students gain an overview of a library or selected information agency and relate the theory of librarianship to the practical work environment. It also helps in assessing their suitability for the profession and eventual job placement. It consists of three weeks (unless otherwise determined by the subject/course coordinator) practical experience in a given library or other information agency. |

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:

- be able to understand and evaluate the technical operations and the organisation of the library or information agency;
- be able to write an evaluative report on a particular aspect of the library or information agency's work;
- be able to demonstrate suitability of the student for the profession and eventual job placement. |
