ITE504 Windows Communication Foundation Application Development (8)

Abstract

This subject gives students the skills required to create the Web services needed to implement robust business applications for Windows.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to build and host a Web service;
- be able to design service contracts and data contracts;
- be able to maintain state information and support transactions;
- be able to programmatically configure bindings and endpoints;
- be able to use load-balancing and perform content-based message routing;
- be able to implement message encryption, authentication, authorization;
- be able to optimize performance with service throttling, encoding, and streaming;
- be able to implement asynchronous operations, oneway methods, and events;
- be able to create services that interoperate with ASP.NET and COM+
