Abstract

This subject provides students with a detailed body of knowledge relating to the application of imagery and geo-spatial intelligence collection and analytical tools to a range of intelligence contexts (national security, policing and emerging practice areas). Students will apply this body of knowledge to different operational intelligence scenarios in the subject in order consolidate new skills learnt.  In particular, students will complete mock assessment tasks using relevant imagery and geo-spatial technology analytical skills learnt in the subject. These technical skills are directly applicable to the intelliegence officer's workplace.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding and mastery of key technical skills related to imagery and geo-spatial intelligence to a variety of mock scenarios
  • be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of the key ethical and professional issues relevant to imagery and geo-spatial intelligence
  • be able to review, analyse, consolidate and synthesise advanced knowledge in imagery and geo-spatial intelligence applications to a range of intelligence settings
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of geo-spatial theoretical concepts in different intelligence contexts
  • be able to think critically about the current and emerging intelligence environments and the challenges in using imagery intellligence
