Abstract

The complexities of change in today's international business environment can be overwhelming for organisations. The pressures of privatisation and globalisation have compelled cross border business organisations to change regularly in order to remain competitive.

Through this subject, students will build an appreciation of useful concepts and tools for understanding, planning and implementing strategic change in international business organisations based in China.

Students completing Stage's I, II and III of the Bachelor of Business Studies China Program or students enrolled in a Transnational Education Partner Program only.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
Understand the role of change management in the current international business environment;
Develop and evaluate different approaches to change management across cultures;
Involve the members of an organizational unit to diagnose its problems and opportunities for deliberate change in multicultural settings;
Understand how to trigger and sustain organization-wide change;
Integrate cross cultural interventions and techniques into a structured deliberate change system for continuous innovation, learning and self-renewal;
To develop an understanding of the business research process in the international business context; and
Recognise the strengths and weaknesses of a range of research methodologies to uphold managerial decisions.

Experimental Designs in International Business Research. h. Managerial Decision Making and Research in Global Settings.
