NRS527 Clinical Practice Profile in Indigenous Mental Health (16)
Abstract| This subject introduces the broad concepts of Indigenous mental health and associated clinical practices. It explores selected practice issues in Indigenous mental health in relation to the principles of care. It examines the roles and functions of nurses and other professionals working with Indigenous clients and offers ways forward to more culturally appropriate methods of care for Indigenous clients. This subject, therefore, enables the students to explore selected issues in clinical practice in depth and presents them with the opportunity to acquire such an insight. It is expected that the subject will stimulate the students to undertake their own study of practice issues that they are most interested in and which are relevant to their own professional practices. |
