QBM120 Business Data Analysis (8)
Abstract
This subject has been designed to equip students with an understanding of techniques and skills required to collate, assess and critically interpret information for practical application in business environments. Business Data Analysis examines the role of contemporary analytical techniques used for modelling various situations with the objective of improving business operations and providing rich information for making recommendations. Beginning with an overview of mathematical principles, the subject will delve into tools used for collating and presenting data, both in numerical and graphical formats. While many of the techniques address quantitative data, students will also learn how to interpret qualitative information. This holistic approach is intended to encourage students to extend the mechanical application of analytical techniques into building skills required for critical judgment. |
