Abstract

In this subject students refine and develop their television production skills through the production of television projects across a range of genres from drama to documentary. Emphasis is given to working collaboratively as part of a production team.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- work with greater autonomy and responsibility as part of a small team to generate more advanced television product
- carry out all the different crew roles associated with the production process
- work collaboratively as part of a production team
- meet deadlines efficiently through the application of appropriate time management
- critically analyse their own work and be able to engage in peer critiques
- understand and apply the grammar of screen language

The subject will cover the following topics:
- production planning and management for short single camera projects
- time management for television pre-production, production and post production
- collaborative process
- television camera direction and continuity
- the static and the moving camera
- advanced production and post production techniques
- the grammar of screen language
