VIS503 Writing for the Arts (32)
Abstract| In this subject students complete a major piece of writing relating to art curation, exhibition, or publication in the area of the visual and performing arts. Students work in coordination with a supervisor to devise a project, gather information, analyse their data, and couch their findings in a form appropriate to the medium of intended publication. Students may carry out their research on gallery and museum collections or exhibition planning, subject to prior arrangement and approval from the subject coordinator. |

- be able to show an understanding of the use of primary and secondary sources, and both descriptive and analytical writing.
- be able to demonstrate skills in evaluative criticism, and the
research methodologies gained in ART501 and ART502 which are consolidated in VIS503. |
