Abstract

The student in consultation with staff will determine the Research leading to a final major work or body of works. Students will be expected to define their own directions and areas of specific interest. Students will be expected to demonstrate a marked degree of independence, self-motivation and professionalism.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to exhibit a complex and well resolved body of work
- be able to demonstrate an ability to describe and analyse artworks
- be able to demonstrate the ability to accept and complete commissions and exhibition works
- be able to demonstrate the capacity to develop original works using a number of processes and approaches
- be able to demonstrate the ability to develop ideas to a final
realisation

Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:
-students undertake research project under the supervision of studio staff taking into account the individual directions and fields of study of the students -research undertaken demands in-depth investigation and documentation leading to an appropriate visual outcome in the form of a resolved body of studio work in the fields of Multimedia or Graphic Design or Interior Design or Fashion Design supported by seminar presentations.
