Abstract

In this subject students apply and synthesise technical and conceptual knowledge through research into contemporary and historical arts practices depending on their area of practice. The outcome will be a focused body of new work(s) in their major area of study.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to demonstrate the ability to exercise reflective and critical judgement as it applies to their selected field of study
- be capable of working collaboratively and independently in critically examining current arts and design practices through the use of appropriate technologies
-be able to demonstrate an understanding of their selected major field of study in national and international context.

Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:
- The role of historical and contemporary visual outcomes in the development of innovative new works - Research and research methodologies in the production of innovative outcomes.
