Admission criteria CSU Admission Policy
Applicants for this course will only be admitted as members of cohorts that are supported and recommended by their organisation. Organisations will only be permitted to recommend applicants with the prior approval of the Course Coordinator.
Applicants will only be admitted to the course where they: -
- Are currently working in a law enforcement related environment, and,
- Can demonstrate a suitable level of investigation experience, and,
- Have undertaken suitably delivered and assessed investigation training program/s.
Credit CSU Credit Policy
Credit, up to a maximum of 32 points will be granted, with Academic Senate approval.
Credit will be granted for successful completion of investigation experience in the law enforcement environment. Credit will be considered for the completion of investigations training programs by course applicants, where those programs are of content relevant to the course, and where they have been delivered and assessed at a suitable standard.
Graduation requirement
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

Specific enrolment patterns in the course will be applied individually to cohorts entering the course.

JST325 Accountability and Policing (8 points)
JST334 Case Management for Criminal Investigations (8 points)
JST345 Police and Victims (8 points)
JST346 Criminal Investigations in Culturally and Ethnically Diverse Societies (8 points)
Alternate subjects may be utilised with the prior approval of the Course Coordinator.
Enrolment pattern
There is no set enrolment pattern in the course, as the enrolment pattern in the course, similar to the subjects studied and for the same reasons, is flexible. That flexibility will allow for course participant, organisational, and subject scheduling needs. An enrolment pattern and subjects undertaken in the program will be negotiated for each individual cohort following discussions between the requesting organisation for the diploma and the Course Coordinator.
A generic enrolment pattern includes: -
Pre-residential subject/s.
Either core or elective subject/s, dependent on organisational requirements, and session of admission. Studied by distance education, in conjunction with the regular distance education offerings of that subject to Bachelor of Policing students consisting of Australian and International police.
Residential School.
A minimum of two subjects consisting of either core or elective offerings for the program, delivered in a residential setting.
Post residential school subject/s.
Either core or elective subject/s, dependent on organisational requirements, and session of admission. Studied by distance education, in conjunction with the regular distance education offerings of that subject to Bachelor of Policing students consisting of Australian and International police.
