The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) aims to prepare graduates for professional practice or further study with an emphasis on current practice issues, including quality management of services, ethical issues, research and communication skills. The Bachelor of Physiotherapy is fully accredited with the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC) and prepares graduates for registration and employment as physiotherapists in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, community health centres, rehabilitation centres, and private practices. For students in the Honours stream, determination of the grade of Honours depends on coursework performance in years three and four of the course as well as performance in the dissertation subject. This course includes practical experience through workplace learning.
This Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a fully accredited course which prepares graduates for registration and employment as physiotherapists in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, community health centres, rehabilitation centres, and private practices. The course expands the professional opportunities for students from regional and remote backgrounds as well as addressing the shortage of health professionals in non-metropolitan areas. Graduates are also equipped to practise in metropolitan areas and internationally and have the knowledge to formulate physiotherapeutic diagnoses and provide appropriate programs of therapeutic exercise and treatments to those primarily with physical conditions. The course is accredited with the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC). This course includes practical experience through workplace learning.

Standard CSU and UAC admission criteria apply.
School leavers will be admitted on the basis of ATAR (or equivalent).
Non-recent school leavers will be admitted based on evidence of their academic performance. Academic performance will be based on senior school results and university results from study undertaken at a minimum of a Bachelor's level for one year. Access to the physiotherapy program may be facilitated by completion of a relevant health or science related degree.
International students will be considered for admission on the basis of prior academic performance and evidence of likely success in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy. English language requirements apply.
Students with physiotherapy qualifications from an off-shore university will be considered for admission as International students, or as on-shore students for those with permanent residency. On-shore students with permanent residency will apply through VTAC/UAC through the usual processes. Offers for admission will be made on the basis of academic merit as ranked by VTAC/UAC but will be considered separately to regular main round offers due to the pre-existing physiotherapy degree. Offers will be made in the 2nd round of offers.
Applications for credit transfer will be considered after enrolment in the course.

In order to be eligible for transfer into the Honours stream at the beginning of year 3, students will be required to achieve grades of Credit or above in at least 50% of first and second level subjects. Selection into the Honours stream will depend upon academic merit and the availability of supervisors.

No special credit arrangements apply.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy
Credit will be offered in line with CSU credit regulations. Students? previous study will be considered for credit where the studies previously completed are very similar to the subjects that are studied in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy; or where students are able to prove that they have proficiency in equivalent to the material contained in a subject. Credit can not be granted for part of a subject and you can only be granted credit for a certain proportion of the course. Credit will be only granted if your studies were completed less than 10 years ago.
For an award of Bachelor of Physiotherapy to be given from CSU students will be assessed for their safety and effectiveness (competency) as a physiotherapist. Students will need to have completed sufficient study at CSU to enable them be assessed across the breadth of physiotherapy practice. It is unlikely that credit will be granted where the subject is an important indicator of students? achievement of competency.
