The Bachelor of Social Science (Justice Studies) (Honours) program provides students with the opportunity for advanced studies in justice studies and criminology. The course enhances graduates' job prospects and is the major avenue for advancement to research-based higher degrees in these disciplines. Graduates have knowledge of advanced criminology theory; have enhanced methodological skills and understand the ethical, political and social issues associated with the undertaking of research on crime and the criminal justice system; understand issues of policy and program development for criminal justice organisations and have completed fieldwork in a criminal justice agency; and have completed a research dissertation.

Admission criteria
CSU Admission PolicyApplicants must:

hold an undergraduate degree in justice studies, criminology or a related area;
OR -
hold an undergraduate degree with a major in criminology, justice studies or a related area;
AND - have achieved an average grade of credit or better in that major in their undergraduate degree.
Credit
CSU Credit PolicyCredit will be awarded only for coursework subjects successfully completed in equivalent honours or post graduate programmes. No credit packages have been negotiated.
Graduation requirements
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

Note: JST439 and JST445 are identical subjects. The differentiation is only due to the study mode of the student.
